as long as i can remember i have loved things in miniature and the idea of tiny people using tiny things in a tiny world. pictured are a few tiny housewares i collected when i was 10 or 11. now i get to share those pieces with a more expansive world of 4 dollhouses and a dolltrailer that we have erected for our family of 4 and our imagination in miniature.

my daughter receives the publication "miniatures" and recently we were talking about the polished, conservative and elaborate nature of the inspirations inside and how differently we view the world of miniatures. most of what we have loved for our houses and miniature imaginings have been simple creations, often out of scale, with a hint of "the borrowers" about them or purchases of older pieces of furniture and accessories with a strong hint of a mysterious, handmade and well played former life.

so it is out of our discussions of our own versions of miniature style that we have decided to study and imagine our own publication via blog. our family of 4 all hope to contribute their inspirations to miniaturelandia and what that world is to us. we plan to journal how to's, happenings, collections, interior design tips and perhaps even interviews with the personalities who call miniaturelandia home.

so welcome to miniaturelandia, we hope you have a magical stay.
